ABOUT US
R.G Modern Community College (RGMCC) is an educational institution Managed by R.G Modern Educational Trust, Affiliated by Tamil Nadu Open University (A state Government University ). It was established as a response to the plight of the semi-educated and school drop-out youth in the Rural of Tamil Nadu and in the remote parts of all district struggling to gain some livelihood.
R.G Modern Community College was started in 2015 at the premises of Melmaruvathur, Kanchipuram Dt. It had 60 students in the first batch who on completion of the course were absorbed in the hospitality sector. In 2017, looking at the progress of R.G Modern Community College, TNOU (Tamil Nadu Open University) came forward to certify all our courses. In 2017 University Grants Commission (UGC) approved two courses under R.G Modern Community College. At present Community College runs UGC approved diploma courses, Management approved diploma courses and short term courses.
So far R.G Modern Community College has trained over 1,600 students. It has trained students in various sector skills or trades as well as Hospitality, Yoga, Nursing Assistant , Beauty and wellness, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Auto service Technician and communication technology. We have had students from all districts in Tamil Nadu.

Concept of Community College
The community college is an alternative system of education is aimed at the empowerment of the disadvantaged and the underprivileged through appropriate skill development leading to gainful employment in collaboration with the local industry and the community and achieves skills for employment and self-employability of people in the society.
The community college promotes job oriented, work related, skill-based and life coping education. The important features of a community college are access, flexibility in curriculum, cost effectiveness, vertical mobility, high job opportunities in commercial and service sectors. The community college movement, aimed at empowering the disadvantaged sections of the society, is today becoming a national phenomenon.

R.G Modern Community College is a unique venture of Tamil Nadu Province. It is unique in many ways. It imparts skill based education. It has students from wide variety of spectrum such as those completed 10th std to post-graduates, rural and urban, failed, drop outs and passed, 17 years and above, of poor and lower middle class, belonging to various religious faiths etc., The community college has such variety of people mainly because it is a institution by the community and for the community.
R.G Modern Community College was started as response to the present plight of the semi-educated and school drop-out youth in the Rural of all Districts in Tamil Nadu. The College has been able to reach out to these people in the last four years quite successfully. At present there is an effort to consolidate and strengthen various skills with variety of aspects. The college envisages reaching out to a large number of people in the days to come.
The candidates who get admitted to R.G Modern Community College get holistic formation. They not only get training in a skill but also language facility in English, basic knowledge in computers, and life coping skills, Yoga. Moreover the candidates are fortunate to get lot of practical knowledge in the skill and firsthand experience of working in the field through internship. Due to the industry partnership they are absorbed quickly into the job.
